This spring has been very dry in Central Pennsylvania. The air has been dry most days and there has been very little rain in May. Less than a third of an inch of rain has falling here in Mount Joy according to my weather station.

For the most part, this spring, every chance of rain has either missed us by a few hundred miles. Just yesterday, we had some clouds, but the rain stayed south of the border in Maryland. There were a few isolated showers in Pennsylvania, but we didn’t get anything here again.

The grass has been browning in areas for a couple of weeks now. Some areas of the ground have had that crunchy sound and feeling to them too. Now it’s mostly browned and crunchy.
