We’ve been seeing numerous cicada killers both flying around and also dead on the ground this summer. I don’t really remember seeing them except on a few rare occasions in the past, but for some reason this summer they seem to be just all over the place. This year, we seem to spot them flying around or laying dead on the ground every time we go for a walk.

I’ve seen people think they are the murder hornets or even be afraid of them because they look like a giant bee. The thing is, they’re not going to bother anyone unless you basically catch it and squeeze it. They’re just laid back.

It’s annoying to see how many people are posting about how to kill them or get rid of them. They’re beneficial insects. The sooner people get over themselves and stop killing something just because they don’t like it, the better off we’ll be.
