Red October Again

I think myself and most people anticipated, the Phillies would be back in the playoffs again this year. They were built to win, and the time is now. They’re in a position to make moves to help them now. Everyone knows that they had a disappointing start to the season, to say the least. Since June, though, the Phils seem to have turned it around. They’ve been killing it. Even when they were doing poorly, it didn’t seem like they had given up. They seemed to be trying to win all the way up to the final plate appearances in the games.

I knew it was going to be a good night when Nola was pitching well and wasn’t losing it in the fourth inning. Then Marsh hit the home run. That was a great thing to see with how he’s been struggling a bit at the plate with numerous strikeouts.

Last night, Kimbrel gave up the game tying home run in the eighth inning. Alvarado was dealing in the next inning, which was good to see. It seems he’s getting back to normal.

With the game tied, the game went into extra innings yet again. Then Hoffman shut it down in the tenth. The Phillies walked it off in the tenth when Rojas got a hit and drove the ghost runner in. How great was that to see? He’s got such a bright future with his defense. He seems to be hitting pretty well, too.

The only thing that would have been better is to actually be at the game, but we couldn’t have done that even if we had tickets. The next best thing to being there was John Kruk unexpectedly announcing the game. Who doesn’t love Kruk? He’s so good at what he does.

The coolest thing about the win was that Rojas walked it off and Hoffman got the win. Neither of them were in the minor leagues to start the year.

Hopefully, they can keep it going this year and get back, then win the World Series!
