I Got Suckered Into Doing A Thousand Burpees During March

Molly decided she wanted to do the thousand burpees during the month of March thing that someone posted about in the street parking group. I have to do them too because I want to help her get through it. So far, it hasn’t been too bad. We did a 10 minute EMOM last week and I got through 70 in that, then did another 50.

Saturday I after the WOD I did them with her again and got through 100 in 8 and a half minutes or so, then did it again an hour later and got 75 that time to make it an even 400.

Today I got through 101 in about nine minutes. Yes, I had to get the extra 1, so I can say that now I’m over half way done with it. I was going to go again, but my legs are still jellylike from the WOD, with lots of running and deadlifts today.

All in all, the whole burpee thing hasn’t been all that bad. I wouldn’t call it fun, but it’s definitely been something that’s doable. When we started Crossfit, burpees killed me. I was done after doing like 3 of them. Somehow, I just learned over time to just embrace the pain of them. They won’t kill you. They’re just unpleasant. Not only that, but they’re a good exercise for sure. I’m hoping to finish out my thousand by the end of the week, then I will just keep going with Molly because extra movement isn’t really a bad thing.

It does still hold true though and will always be true FUCK BURPEES
