Sunny And In The Upper 50s!

We haven’t had a super mild day this February yet, but it’s also not been really that cold, except for some nights. The warmer days have also been cloudier. Not today, though. It was in the upper 50s early this afternoon after I got a shower. It was nearly clear, save for a few very widely scattered hazy clouds here and there.

I decided it was the perfect opportunity to take some cushions out on the patio and collect some sunshine. No way in Hell was I going to wear jeans, either. The wind is fairly calm, so although it’s not really mild, it’s nice in the sunshine. While digging through my drawer, I saw my swovie shorts. Perfect for today! The pants version of them are very comfortable, but the shorts are even more comfortable. I think I’ll have to get some more this summer. Hopefully, they have more colorful ones. If you’re like me and don’t really concern yourself with what others may or may not think, I highly recommend them. They’re comfortable.

As nice as it was outside, I took shorter periods out there than I would have liked, so I didn’t get too sunburned. I have really had much sun in quite a while, and we have no shade on our patio since the tree’s gone. Not that we’d have that much, but the large tree trunk used to block a lot of sun during these months of the year with the lower angle. It didn’t actually matter that there weren’t leaves. The flower buds were pretty big at this time of the year on that tree.

As nice as today is there are still some patches of snow out front in the shade where it had been piled up. The flies are already buzzing around out there too.

I went back out on the patio late this afternoon with Molly when she got home. I zoned out if not dozed off then. The sun wasn’t as high or bright, so it wasn’t shining in my eyes as much as earlier. I’m not used to that.

This nice, fresh air was just what the doctor ordered to put me in a better mental state. I wasn’t in a bad one before, but the sun always makes me feel so much better. It’s one of those free things that nature gives us, and I think everyone should take full advantage of it.
