First Rose Of The Year
I was blowing the dust and pollen off the front sidewalk when I got a whiff of the rose blooming. I thought that was odd, then I noticed the flower that has opened. It was tucked away inside the rose bush, so it wasn’t as noticeable as they usually are.
The plant is loaded with buds. Hopefully, it blooms well this year. Usually, it’s really promising and then blooms well for a short period of time, then peters out. We’re going to try to take better care of it this year.
They don’t usually smell but this one smelled strong. Usually it’s a few flowers that smell good on this bush then the rest don’t really have much of a smell.
