I slept great last night. I had a long sleep and only woke up once. The cool air coming in the window from the window was wonderful and helped me sleep again. With the low dropping into the fifties again, it made for great sleeping weather. I did wake up with a super stuffy nose which was annoying
I woke up about 5 AM and drank my coffee. The coffee as it is always is a great thing to have in the morning. It didn’t take me long to realize it was going to be one of those days for me, though.
I don’t know why, but I wasn’t feeling it today. I wasn’t feeling like doing shit. For whatever reason, I felt completely uncoordinated for one thing. Just tired as hell, and I shouldn’t have felt that way. I came closer than I want to admit to passing on my lifts for the day, but then just got my ass in gear and did it anyway.
I kicked things off with my back squats, but I did them much lighter than I was supposed to do today. Last night before bed when I stood out, my knee left out a massive pop but didn’t hurt. As a precaution, I dropped the weight back to a hundred and ninety-five pounds, even though I didn’t fail the other day. It’s better to move and squat something than nothing. They felt really great and easy as they should have felt. I took that as a change to work on speed with them and keep the rest to the minimum. It didn’t take me long to do five sets of five.
Next up for today’s lifting was the bench press. These are getting a little heavier for me now. Today I did three sets of five of the bench presses at one hundred and seventy pounds. They definitely felt pretty heavy, but also doable. My left arm, which is the one that had given me problems for so long, still feels a little weaker than my right arm, and that’s why these felt tougher than they should have for the weight. Regardless, I did it and I will take it. Even those benching is far from my favorite lift, it does feel good to be getting under more weight again.
Last up for my day’s lifting was the good mornings. For these, I went with one hundred and twenty pounds for my three sets of ten. These felt surprisingly good for me today. I didn’t expect them to feel bad or anything, but just feel like I am dragging ass today. The only problem I had with them is that I kept having to sneeze right before starting the set. That and farting while hoping it’s not a shart.
In the end it was a good day for me in the garage. It was certainly not one of my greatest or favorite days but it was good because I did the work. It is the days like when I don’t feel like it yet still get my ass out there and workout that are the ones that help me improve the most.
