The other day my Fiio music player was just stopping after a second or two of playing a song yet streaming from amazon was working find. I thought that was weird but never added things up in my head. Over the past few months I’ve been having some issues with it pausing for a few seconds at a time randomly but not every time. I assumed it was something interfering with blue tooth.

I’ve been wanting to get a new portable music player. It needed to play FLACs, have expandable memory and Bluetooth. I settled on a Fiio M11 after my girlfriend’s Fiio M7 has worked so well for her.

I needed to get a new tablet since my old Samsung was getting itself into a boot loop. I ended up settling on the Asus ZenPad 3s 10 9.7"

My note 5 seemed to be acting up a bit. It seemed like the battery life had gotten inconsistent and I’d rather have something that works OK as a backup so I started looking around Swappa. Why would anyone buy a brand new phone? I decided to go with the pixel 2 XL because of the screen size and lack up a thousand unremovable apps like the Samsung had. I don’t want Facebook and all that other shit taking up space when I’m never going to use it.

One of my biggest frustrations with android devices is that the manufacture supports the security updates and that just typically doesn’t happen. It’s the culture of technology now. Push it out now then artificially obsolete it. People eat that shit up and so many want to just go buy the latest and greatest. I, on the other hand prefer to keep using something as long as it works well enough for my needs.

I’ve had a Motorola Droid Max that I bought used on Swappa for a couple of years. It’s worked well enough for me but I’ve always wished it had a bit of a bigger Screen. Some of the text is just a tad too small for me to easily see. I saw the Notes with the bigger screen and my Note tablet has been great so far so I have been keeping eye out for a price I was willing to pay for on Swappa.

A few things that happened recently made me finally decide to break down and get a cell phone. First was my dad’s sudden unexpected death. Luckily Molly was off work so we took the train to Philly to see him although it was already too late as he was brain dead from his heart attacks. She had her phone so we were able to get a hold of my brother to pick us up at the train station but had she been at work I’d have had no way to call him.

For Christmas I gave Molly an Apple iPod touch 32 GB (4th Generation) I have always personally written apple stuff off for me because of the touch screen. I just didn’t think it would work too well with my very poor vision. As it would turn out My old beloved Creative labs Zen W seems to be dying a slow death so I thought I’d look at Molly’s Izod. After looking up accessibility for it I saw that they had a way to make the text large and reverse contrast which is what suits my needs best.
